Yes these forums cost us nothing in dollars (unlike the rest of Brisgraff which we pay for), but you can't imagine the grief and bullshit we have put up with in reaction to a lot of the messages posted on the Forum by some of you. Some seemingly in fun, others malicious and malignant.

When we talk to people in the REAL world and hear of arguments, vicious fights and worse, occurring because of shit posted on the Brisgraff noticeboard we wonder why we bother.

We also get mighty pissed off, because we provided a public forum for writers to talk to one another, share news and arrange whatever, a community of communication which instead was turned into a diatribe of hatred and heavy violence, assisting no one but those gathering intelligence for their own ends.  We never once pretended it was secure, we alway said it was public, so why did you give so much information to anyone who was looking.

We initially only removed sensitive information when we saw it or were alerted to it. We wanted to keep the board and its free expression as a part of the record of Brisbane graff we have been building. We lost some of the posts from the previous boards but most of it is archived. Already a large part of the current board has been lost due to attempts to control some of the shit. A big problem is your shit is not his shit is not my shit, if you get my drift.

Then we started discovering links to images on other websites. Initially we just removed the code pointing to the image but then we began banning people. Image theft is immoral and illegal. We do not affiliate with image thieves and will have no truck with them.

We also found that members were setting up guest accounts and posting shit that wasn't very enlightening or entertaining. Doing this breaches the terms of agreement we have with the board provider so to remedy this those members posts were removed and the members banned.

We are here to document Brisbane graffiti as best we can. We started based on the images, not crews or views or political manifestos or whatever else, but images. Graff images that I see as public art without the bureaucracy. Graff images that I see as valid art. So you see brothers, we're here for the graff , only  the graff and nuttin but the graff. Does that make it clear.

For those of you that did all that work on the threads and kept large bits of the noticeboard real, we apologise. We are working at retrieving all the posts to put into another format. In the short term not a board engine, just a viewable archive. We are planning another noticeboard but that will be built to our own specifications sometime in the future.

So now you can click on the close button below and go back the the graff or just go somewhere else. We don't care. We're here for the graff OK.
